Family Manual & Policies

This manual has been provided to serve as a guide to the board members, parents, team managers, players, and coaches of the Vikings. If it is referred to regularly, consistency and continuity can be achieved throughout the entire hockey program. Changes in policy and guidelines may take place from time to time. The Vikings will make every effort to keep this manual up to date.

Rules, Regulations, Policies and Agreements

VIKINGS YOUTH HOCKEY CLUB
  RULES, REGULATIONS and POLICIES

Introduction

The Vikings Board of Directors has adopted the following policies and procedures. The goal of the policies and procedures is to inform Vikings members of the basic principles used to manage the club and to make decisions that affect the club and its members.

Each policy contains two basic sections. The first section is the policy statement and the details of the policy statement. These are the "rules" that are used to make decisions in the areas covered by the policy. The second section is a "policy discussion." This is intended to give some background for the policy and explain the thinking behind the "rule." A "double line" in the policy distinguishes the two sections. If there is any conflict between the sections, the first section controls.

Questions may arise about what a policy means or how it applies. These questions should be addressed to the Rules and Ethics Committee. The Rules and Ethics Committee will either answer the question or take it to the Vikings Board, which ever is appropriate.

Members may suggest additional policies, suggest changing policies or may suggest deleting policies. The Board decides such actions. Members are encouraged to discuss such actions with the Rules and Ethics Committee.

A downloadable pdf version of these polices can be found at the bottom of this page.
