Introduction
The Vikings Board of Directors has adopted the
following policies and procedures. The goal of the
policies and procedures is to inform Vikings members of
the basic principles used to manage the club and to make
decisions that affect the club and its members.
Each policy contains two basic sections. The first
section is the policy statement and the details of the
policy statement. These are the "rules" that are used to
make decisions in the areas covered by the policy. The
second section is a "policy discussion." This is intended to
give some background for the policy and explain the thinking
behind the "rule." A "double line" in the policy
distinguishes the two sections. If there is any conflict
between the sections, the first section controls.
Questions may arise about what a policy means or how it
applies. These questions should be addressed to the Rules
and Ethics Committee. The Rules and Ethics Committee will
either answer the question or take it to the Vikings Board,
which ever is appropriate.
Members may suggest additional policies, suggest changing
policies or may suggest deleting policies. The Board decides
such actions. Members are encouraged to discuss such actions
with the Rules and Ethics Committee.
