A big congratulations to the 2006 Vikings for taking 2nd place this weekend in the AAA STX Chi Town Shuffle tournament.

After a strong showing in the round robin, taking down the Chicago Jets, Joliet Jaguars and Indy Strong with a whopping 26 goals for, the Vikings proceeded to the Quarter Finals against the Chicago Mission ADM team, where they advanced with a 15-2 victory.  The semi-finals against the Skokie Flyers was a barn burner, with the Vikings eventually coming out on top in OT by a score of 13-12. 

After 5 games in 3 days, the young Vikings didn't have the legs to complete the victory in the 6th game, falling to the Chicago Jets in the Championship game.  A big congratulations to Josh Reaska for being named the Tournament MVP.  Great Job Boys!

Also of note this weekend, the 2003 team advanced to the semi-finals after going 3-0 in round robin play and defeating the Fon Du Lac Bears in the Quarter Finals.  They would fall to the eventual tourney champion Wisconsin Flyers in the Semis.
