What a way to top off an inaugural season for the Vikings Girls 16U!  After going 13-1-2 in NIHL and 30-13-4 overall, the Girls took home the President's Cup before taking on the State and NIHL Round Robins.

A 2-0 performance in a small field in the State Round Robin, defeating the Admirals 11-0 and Hawks 4-1, was enough to advance the girls to the championship game on Saturday.  A commanding performance followed, defeating the Hawks by a score of 5-0 to take home the Illinois State Championship.  This win qualified the girls for the USA Hockey Nationals in Burlington VT from March 31st to April 4th.

If that wasn't enough, after beating the Hawks again 5-1 to advance to Sunday's Wolves Cup Championship, the Viking Girls would again take home the top prize by defeating the Bruins 3-2 in an exciting overtime win.

An extension of the playing season is always good this time of year, but to do it with back to back championships?  Outstanding!  Way to go girls!
