In the 2015-16 season, Claire captained the U14 Orland Park Vikings Girls to a 3rd place finish in the Illinois State AA Championship and a 2nd place finish in the Northern Illinois Hockey League Championship.  Claire recorded 106 points in 51 games on 83 goals nearly doubling her goal total of 42 in the 2014-15 season.  Head Coach of the U14 Vikings Keith Mizwicki mentions, "Claire is a finisher which is very rare to see at this age and level.  She can beat you with any type of shot and is laser accurate from anywhere inside the dots."  

Moving from her natural side (right) to the left was an adjustment Hickey needed to make this year.  "We felt moving her to the off-wing would expand her options to increase the number of quality scoring chances on a per game basis.", Mizwicki noted.  The result ... 83 goals.  Something you don't hear very often around girls’ hockey.  

Hickey plans to return to the Vikings next fall as a first year U16 and hopes that her scoring ability follows.  Mizwicki added, "It will for sure.  We're giving her a few different techniques to improve her release and are working with her to incorporate more deception to stay ahead of the goaltenders."

The 15 Girls National Camp will run July 18-24th across 3 different locations and will include 216 players and 120 forwards.
