The 2003 CSDHL Team returned to Fraser, MI to defend their 2015 Rumble on the Rink Title as they skated in the 2016 Rumble Tournament this past weekend.

 

The Vikings 03s opened up against the Birmingham, MI Liberty on Friday with a dominating 9-0 victory. Game two saw the Vikings face off against the LaSalle Ontario Sabres on Saturday afternoon. The Vikings opened up an early lead and never looked back, securing a 4-0 win over the boys from Canada.

 

With a spot secured in the Semi Finals, the Vikings took on the Lake Erie, PA Tigers in game 3 of round robin play. The Vikings jumped out to an early 3-0 after the first period but the second period saw the Tigers make a big push back scoring midway through the second to gain some momentum. In the third the Tigers again made a run scoring early to cut the Vikings lead to 3-2. The Vikings held on for the 3-2 win, however a refocusing was needed as the Vikings moved to the Semi Finals the next day.

 

The Vikings took the #1 seed into the Semi's facing the Lakeland Hawks. The 03s were re-focused as the rolled to a 7-1 victory. The finals saw a rematch vs the LaSalle Ontario Sabres. The Vikings had a slow start but gained momentum as the game went on as they controlled the play and skated to a lopsided 8-0 win to repeate as the 2003 Rumble on the Rink Champions.
